Our practice is born out of the former KPMG search and selection business, a part of one of the largest business advisory firms worldwide. We therefore have extensive technical knowledge from within this key area and the ability to advise clients about the capability and cultural compatibility of high calibre professionals looking to utilise their skills within this market.

We consider ourselves to be a ‘tried and tested’ advisory practice having more that 30 years of experience in this market across our team, while,  at the same time demonstrating the drive, ambition and energy of a new company. Established in 2005, the media have referred to Active Human Capital as ‘new maturity on the block’.

Active Human Capital operates within the Banking & Private Equity market under the guidance of Richard Boot, Regional Chairman of Coutts & Co. private bank and formerly a partner of KPMG’s corporate finance unit. We therefore understand and are able to meet the demanding recruitment and assessment requirements of today’s banking and private equity firms, including the needs of their investee companies.

 

We understand ‘the nature of human nature’ and the effect on the dynamics of a team. For PE or VC deals our approach is different at Active Human Capital. We start with the business case that supports the deal to really understand the dynamics of the investment and how the exit is to be achieved, and we work from there. This means we define the competencies that will support the delivery of the exit strategy and assess the individual members of the team accordingly, reporting on the competence at individual and team level.  As required, we can recruit new members who will complement the team and support achievement of the business plan.

 

When a merger is occurring we can assess the top management team across the merging parties to identify those with the potential and ability to deliver the future business plan. This process supports the preparation of a personal development plan for each individual and applies metrics to people to help Management make a more objective appraisal at times of right-sizing the organisation, and planning for its future growth.

 

Active Human Capital is also able to recruit MBI candidates with investment resources and experienced Non Executive Directors for PE and VC backed ventures.
